Good discussion

We had some discussion on the topic of intonation and pronunciation during NCE II reading. In my opinion, both are equal importance. But for the learning curve, I think pronunciation should go first. It is the foundation and relative easy part. When you have the word be said clearly and correctly with right position of tongue and lip and right stress, intonation will not go that far. However, after learning all the right skills, we need to make the same effort on intonation and stress. I feel the intonation is delicate, sophisticated and pretty subjective, and it requires much more practice than pronunciation itself by significant reading the listening.
