"Perceids" refers to the meteor shower in mid August from the constellation Perseus. "falling star" refers to single meteor burning in the atmosphere. "meteor shower" refers to the group of meteors from the same source, usually the remnants of a comet. "meteor shower" would be more oral in this case.
