bake - used for food or other stuffs like bricks

roast - mainly for meat

Informal
a. To ridicule or criticize harshly.
b. To honor at or subject to a roast.


toast - mainly for bread

also used for:

v.tr.
To drink to the health or honor of.

v.intr.
To propose or drink a toast.
