Thanks for your suggestion. Actually, I have spent quite a bit of time trying to repair my laptop, but as soon as one problem is solved, another pops up. As a result, I've kind of given up on the idea. If I refrain from doing certain things on it (like uploading a file), it gives me some peace of mind by not crashing so often.
