part vs separate (word study 1)

I came across two Chinese at Mcdonald, then said good-bye.
"Xiang feng2 ji 分 shou3".
I tried to use "separate" for "fen shou3",that is incorrect.
Separate implies a putting apart, it may suggest a scattering of unit;
Part suggests the separation of two person in union, it often suggests a final separation.
To be in a simple way to remember:
Separate---離, a couple separated' but may reunited.
Part---duan4, part by death, no hope...
Back to the begining, we should use "part" instead of "separate".

我嘗試使用“分離”for“fen shou3"，這是不正確的。
分離...可能表明單位散kai;
part通常意味著最後分離。
一個簡單的方法來記住：
separate---離，一對夫婦分開' ，但可能團聚。
part--- duan4 ，分bie2 yin 死亡，沒有希望...
回到開始，我們應該使用“part” ，而不是“separate” 。
