Pick^a peak
People who pick! peaks weekly / seem to need! / to appear deep / / in^order to be distinguished! from^mere pea pickers. / Peter, / a champion peak! picker,/ thought he'd! be even^neater / if he were the deepest! peak! picker in Peoria, / Phoenix,/ and New Zealand. / On^(h)is peak! peak! picking week!, though, / Peter, / a peak! picker's peak! picker, / realized! that he was not! deep. / This^is not^easy for^a peak! picker to^admit / and^it pitched Peter into^a pit^of peak! picking despair. / He was pitiful for six weeks / and then lifted^himself / to hitherto / unrevealed! personal peaks.

Glottal stops are for the sounds of d, t, k, g, b or p, when one of those sounds happens at the end of a word or syllable. We close the vocal cords very sharply and make the air stop for just a moment. We don’t let the air escape.

ps. those above is a general descripton of the phonetic points of the passage, not covering intonation and word stress yet, and is not a complete coverage even for the three points mentioned (as some may involve either liason or glottal stop):
