The most effective way to learn a language is your way- immerse yourself in the sea of the language.

I learnt some French long while ago and in the class, nobody talked in English and teacher only explained things in French. At that time, my French was better than my English. I still remembered most of them and am able to carry simple conversations even after so many years without speaking French.

After I fully master English, I might pick up French again. I think Spanish is in the same Latin family as French.
