My 2 cents:
0) Stay calm always.
1) Communicate clearly with all participants.
2) Use emails as a business communication tool for your records (may be useful for potential litigation), use phone or MSN communicator for your gossips.
3) Do follow-ups as necessary as possible to engage co-workers and decision makers into the issues.
4) Always prepare an excuse plan for the possible undeliverables.
5) When you need confrontations, try to bring issues, focus on issues, propose the possible solutions instead of persons. NO finger-pointing at all ....
6) Show your maturarity, professionalism, and positive attitude.
ATTITUDE is always one of the keys to anythings.
