remind me of my early days abroad. I had a good friend I called all the time. she lived with american family. so my call to her had always made me nervous

"good evening, Mister roberts. may I speak to soandso?"
"hi, how are you mister roberts. is soandso at home?'I was very cautious and perticularly polite

the american gentleman was a teacher and was very polite and spoke slowly for me "yes, of course", "hold on let me find her for you"
