I think he scored well on 9/11 but was really dragged down by the war in Iraq. Katrina made things worse. Seems that his job approval rate peaked right after 9/11 and it was his saling point (anti-terrorist/national security) in the presidential election four years ago. Launching the war in Iraq was really a big mistake?

However, many people seem to like his personality.
