"A rising tide lifts all boats" means that when the overall economy or situation improves, everyone involved benefits, not just the wealthy or powerful, much like a rising tide in a harbor raises all vessels, big or small. Popularized by US President John F. Kennedy, it suggests that broad economic growth, often from increased investment, lifts everyone in the economy, but critics note it can overlook those left behind or disproportionately benefiting the wealthy.
It can also apply to situation where improving the whole helps all parts, eg. retraining staff to improve overall team performance.

What prompted me to find and post this APAD ain't about the current economy or stock market, but real tides, the King tides that is.
Walked to a beach nearby (about 35min walking distance pending on route) yesterday noon, and found that all the beaches were submerged under the sea water. Felt truly amazed by Mother Nature's work of King tides.
Ocean here is much colder than in southern CA, there ain't colourful sea plants and creatures as in 暖冬's post, but many many draft woods, even some broken parts from wooden boats. I looked and wondered: What happened to those boats? What happened to the people on the boats?
A rising tide lifts all boats, and can break some, too ... ...
Wish All well, on this post-holiday Monday.
