"Never let the future disturb you" means that you should not let anxieties about what might happen in the future worry you, as you can only control the present moment and should focus on taking action in the here and now.
By saying so, stoic philosopher Marcus Aurelius emphasized to live in the present, not wase energy worrying about things that haven't happened yet, and to accept what is beyond your control.

I'm far from a scholar nor a believer in any religion other than Mother Nature. But I'm always curious and interested in learning philosophies, including Stoicism and Buddhism.
I have read "Buddha" by Karen Armstrong who is a respected scholar in Buddhism, and really admire and respect Siddhartha Gautama, for how he found the purpose of living through harsh self suffering. To me, Buddhism is more about philosophy than religion (it doesn't promote any "god"!!!) .
Stoicism concept was introduced to me by hubby's old brother. He converted from Catholicism to Stoicism long ago, but funny thing is, is that he is a believer but not an actual follower 
Both Buddhism and Stoicism promote inner peace and happiness, the difference (to me at least) is that Stoicism is focusing more on self improvement to achieve tranquility; while Buddhism is more on removing self desires to liberate self from suffering.
So personally I respect both Buddhism and Stoicism, but prefer Stoicism. I wanted to get the 2nd opinion, so went and asked Maowi the cat. He looked at me and said nothing. Although "nothing will come from nothing", but I normally take no answer as a Yes!
