not sure if it worked.  There are two types of budworms, we have the black/grey one here.  I have a pink rose (my Mom's favorite) which is eaten by budworms every spring (see the holes on the leaves in pic below).  but I never try to treat it, as long as the budworms leave a few roses for me, and they always do.  Bugs are part of the nature and they need to live 2 ;-) the birds can get some of them ;-), and the eagles can get some of the birds, and so on ;-)
