I still remember some of the reports about his death

He was on his way to work in the morning. His car was bumped by another vehicle in the heavy traffic. He and the driver of other vehicle pull over as any usual drivers dealing with this kind of minor traffic accident. In the broad daylight, the driver in the other car suddenly pull out a handgun and shot him. He was dead on the scene. The killer fleed. 

It was a huge shock to the country. The country moaned the loss of brilliant doctor. The country hosted a state funeral for him in the biggest cathedral in Sydney. 

Police solved the crime fairly quick and fairly easily. It turned out the killer left his wallet in the crimne scene. He was a malaysian national. It was such a bizarre case since that world famous heart surgeon had nothing to do with that petty Malaysian guy. Those two have never crossed to each other. Victor didn't carry lots of cash. There was no history of personal interaction between those two. The motive remains mystery.
