Totally agree from theory and practice, although be careful

that the world often does not work this way. In my workplace, e.g., it is the guys rushing to put out the fire who get the credit, not those who plan to avoid the fire in the first place.

When everything's going fine, it's a hard sell to say "look how much trouble I've saved you."
