A big tree is lying on a creek

 

you lie there
and the stream flows under
what crawls on you are
dampness and ants, these fragile and deadly
under the promise of time
spare no effort

You are lying there still in the sound of the stream
the water that once nourished you
now is carrying you
to that foreign land

the sunlight falls on you
you seem to hear the song
that once you ignored
while insisting on going up
