We kept a few of the christmas decorations our son and daughter made when they were kids. Every year when they saw those decorates during Chrismas time, they remind(ed) them of some old memories.
The nutcracker orament was made by my son in 2003 at school when he was in grade 3. He brought it home after finished and told us that it was a nutcracker. We had no idea why it was called nutcrackers untill we saw the ballet show The Nutcracker many years later. We thought it was related to the cracker for nuts. Two days ago when my son was home, we were talking about the nutcracker orament. We asked him why he didn't explain (to) mom and dad what's nutcracker (is). He said he didn't know either at that time. You guys never took me to watch the ballet show. Haha, he was right. We were still struggling as a new immigrant(s) in a new country at that time.
