It snowed another
Thirty centimeters in the night

Praying the Lord
For your soul to keep

And tucking the white world in tight

I got the popcorns out of microwave oven
A few that didn’t get popped
Made my teeth ache

A mayfly entered through the crack
Of the front door
With her chilled and numbed wings in grace 

Greeting me who's dozing off 
About the couch
By the living room fireplace
