秋深霜重叶红处
碧水连天
扶杖远瞩
银鸥舞白发
娘不哭
年年望穿秋水
怕儿忘穿秋裤

Longing in Autumn: To My Mom Overseas
Into autumn deep
When frosts become heavy and leaves crimson,
The emerald water shimmers on the horizon.
Who leans on a walking-stick
Gazing afar by the water
Is my mom,
In the wind her white-hair stirring,
The silver seagulls dance.
She doesn't weep,
She longs for her son overseas
Year after year,
Having concern for him
Not to put on warm trousers.

Gray hair blows in the wind
Leaning on a stick, gazing afar
There stands my mom
Year after year, eyes worn cold N’ sad
Son yet in sight
No tears shed, no ease in mind:
May the long johns keep my son snug.

when the leaves and grass blush red and yellow
when the green lake-water shimmers silver
as seagulls rest around
She leans on a stick
Grey hair billowing in the air
gazing afar in hope
There she stands, looking for her son.

Disappointed yet never shedding a tear
She's worried about one thing though:
"Is he wearing his warm pants?"
