before the age of the tiger mom, before there was any hint of the sort of white-hot competition we see today on "the starting line". So, yes, I'd say it took a prescient mind, a lot of foresight, if you will, to make a decision to get the kids to take private lessons at a not insignificant cost. Thank you for the observation.
