I’m glad to read your letter which made me very much excited and from which I learned a lot. I’m simply overwhelmed by flattery and honor because this poem of mine should be loved and translated into English by a bosom friend whom I’ve never met.
Yet I must repeat again that my poems are really poor enough so that I think they are neither fish, flesh, nor fowl (bulunbulei) because in appearance, they look like Chinese classic poems but in fact none of them perfectly conforms to the standard principles of rhymes and schemes. I only compose them according to what I really and naturally think. Therefore I call them a self-created free style.
I’m happy to read “It's quite enjoyable experience with you in jointly do the translation of Chinese-to-English” and “I look forward to reading more of your poems and writings”. To tell the true, I’m really afraid translating my poems will waste your precious time. Since you feel joyous and don’t mind, I’m certainly glad to let you read more my poems later on.
