"500 Miles" (also known as "500 Miles Away from Home" or "Railroaders' Lament") is a song made popular in the United States and Europe during the 1960s folk revival. The simple repetitive lyrics offer a lament by a traveller who is far from home, out of money and too ashamed to return.

2019年，Orla Fallon重新演绎并收录进她的新专辑《Sweet by and by》- Americana songs of inspiration and hope. Orla的演唱，少了些离乡背井的悲伤，多了一点希望和抚慰。

"The album begins on a plaintive pace with the 1960s folk revivalist's "500 Miles," a song about a forlorn soldier out of money and ashamed to return home.  Fallon brilliantly acts as a foil of comfort for this dispirited soldier with her careful phrasing and her gentle tone.“
