这在英语讲故事里有个常用的英语句型： I was (doing something) when (something suddenly happened)
似可以这样写：
I was just getting off the bus this morning when it suddenly started to rain cats and dogs
or
I was just getting off the bus this morning when I realized it was raining cats and dogs
