You have such feelings because you have reached a high lever on accent reduction. You have such feelings because your goal is not only to reduce an accent, but to eliminate an accent.

I didn't spend too much time on the materials you mentioned above. I visited that website many times and found it helpful. I listened Ann Cook's audio only one time, but I didn't do any exercises. Cook's book is not suitable for me until I solve the basic pronunciation problems. The only problem of these materials might be that they are not for "Chinese" only. They might be helpful for accent reduction, but they are useless for accent elimination.  

I'm still "闭门造车“-ing now, so I might laugh at myself sooner or later.
