请教，有这个成语:walk on someone's tiptoe 吗？

正在看一部关于罪案的记录片，然后一个知情人评论男主人公，说他个性很强。然后，说you have to walk on your tiptoe(这个字为音译，听不清楚） to avoid offence him. 　我想意思大概就是很小心，避免发出声音。

但是，不知道这个tiptoe的正确拼法是什么。在词典上好象也找不到这个成语。
