43. Goodwill

This afternoon, Mei and I brought the two retired but functioning TV sets to a nearby Goodwill location and donated them. To our pleasant surprise, it was quite busy down there. We were happy to reclaim the little space that had been occupied by them and to do something charitable at the same time. Although we had had this good will for a while, it felt particularly good to carry it out finally. And then I remembered the lyrics by Hammerstein:

A bell is no bell 'til you ring it,
A song is no song 'til you sing it,
And love in your heart wasn't put there to stay,
Love isn't love 'til you give it away!
