很有趣的小文。一点点小改动哈。我觉得写东西时可以尽量避免i said, she said, he said,
有点单调重复的感觉;可以用不同的动词来替代say/said。:)
另外英文里对话前是用逗号,不是象中文一样用冒号。哈哈,有点鸡蛋里挑骨头哈。莫怪。
Today I complimented my friend that she looked like a million bucks,
And she replied,“Really? With all green wrinkles? ”I explained,“No,I mean you look
like a rich woman." she laughed and said, "Yes, I am loaded with money coming
out of my ears." I told her, "If that's the case you should lower your voice
to avoid any trouble." She started telling me her story when she lived in
Toronto decades ago. She was 19 back then and worked part time
in a restaurant as a waitress while taking classes in a community college
in downtown Toronto. She had to share an apartment with a friend.
Before they moved into that apartment building, they didn't realize that most people living in
there were men who act like women, and they were all experts in girly
stuff. So those men helped these two girls with make-up and buying nice clothes
at bargin prices. Ever since then, those two tomboys started to look like
pretty rich and attractive young ladies, but the reality is that
they are still as broke as before, no matter how many guys are chasing after them.
