I noticed you used a lot of "couple of" instead of "a couple of". I once consulted a native speaker about the use of "couple of" and was told that it is tolerated in casual speech, but not considered good writing style. Also, you can use "a few", "several" etc. for a change. 

Just my 2 cents.
