黄河远上白云间，

一片孤城万仞山。

羌笛何须怨杨柳，

春风不度玉门关。

Over where the Yellow River runs into the distance,

Amid the white clouds streches a town against lofty mountains.

Why bemoan the willows through your flute, alas,

But no spring breeze deigns to grace Yuman Pass.
