黃河遠上白雲間﹐

一片孤城千仞山。

羌笛何須怨楊柳﹐

春風不度玉門關。

The Yellow River crawls far up the clouds in white, 

A lone town lies below a mountain in sky height.   

Why moan the willow song through your flute so heart-break,

Since no spring breeze ever favors Yumen Pass of might.
