抱歉还没请native帮看。加拿大的暑假特别是8月份貌似人人都度假去了。感谢各位老师多指正!

The other day John  had an appointment at 4:00pm  for his car oil changing and remote battery replacing. It was a stifling  hot  day and it seemed to be raining soon. 4 00 pm is always the rush hour for this city, maybe also for other big cities all over the world?.  It was about half an hour drive from his office to  his dealer. So to avoid the peak hour traffic jam,  he even left 10 minutes earlier and took the scenic route.  It was so hot that he lowered  his windows on both side and enjoyed the soft and  balmy breeze. It started to rain half way through driving to his destination. The rain drops started to drip down to his  windshield, so he pressed on the button the side window to roll up the window glasses.

To his surprise, he even saw some hailstones floating in the wind mixfed with rain, though they were  not big enough to crack windows, the noise sounded sharper than rain when the car was hit by them. In no time, the water rushing into storm. The shower would lower the temperature of the city, he thought pleasantly  as he reduced his speed and accelerated the speed of the windscreen wiper. John is a careful person. He is the oldest son in his family. He has 2 brothers and his parents passed away successively  during his  university school years back in China.  As a traditional Chinese he thinks that he is responsible for  taking care of his brothers, so that is why he does everything with caution. He told him he would not able to afford the any failure caused by ignorance. So he doesn't want to get himself into any trouble that won't do any good to him and his family. He is the hero of his brothers although they have long been  grow ups and got married a few years ago.

Rain was still dripping. He stopped at a red light, waiting. All of a sudden, he heard somebody's car pressing  tires. It must be the slipperiness caused by rain. This reminded him of the first time he drove a  car by himself. That was the first time he drove in snow, and that was a night after a class.  Because he was so nervous driving down a slippery slope, he stepped on the brake pedal hard than he was supposed to so  he lost control that his car water planed almost right into the back of a bus. Damn it! What a close call!

John, although he always tries to be careful doing things, but, if you know him well enough, you could tell that he is sort of a person who has  an  one-track mind, maybe because he stayed in school for such  a long time. He graduated with a PhD degree at the age his age of 29 after spending 4 years in  labs and classrooms studying mechanical engineering.  A few years ago, since he got his first car , he ran red lights for a few times and locked  his car door twice while the engine was still. He had learned some lesson since, anyway,

You may not believe that he got his first car for $200 from a friend of his friend. What a good bargain, eh? But the conditions of that car were not worth praising, that except the horn was not noisy, everywhere of that car seemed to be noisy like hell(我想说的是除了喇叭不响其他地方都响)what an old clunk! And his girlfriend then now his wife who has a quick temper kicked on it hard angrily when the engine died while driving. However, the lucky thing was  he  never have a  car accident, not even a bender fender, although driving with is one-track mind and stinky driving skills. Lucky, huh?

Now it was green light, so John pulled himself back from the lala land and pulled himself together concentrating on heading to his destination.

要練習寫作﹐只用一般英語知識﹐加語法來寫作是不夠的。 -海外逸士- 给 海外逸士 发送悄悄话 海外逸士 的博客首页 (135 bytes) () 08/08/2012 postreply 11:26:09
