insulin plays an important role in weight gain and weight loss.
many healthy people have no issue with insulin production, but may be sensitive to carbs. you will exprience sleepiness after starchy meals,you feel hungary again 2 or 3 hours after, then you may feed yourself some sugar rich snacks. the consequence is your blood sugar level spikes quickly and drops again quickly due to carb sensitivity. you may exprience weight gaining or difficulty in weight loss which put you in a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
