bell and clock （random thoughts）

 

英文中 bell 与 clock 是两码事。一个是铃声，一个是 telling time，分开使用。

中文的钟 既可以是 bell， 也可以是 clock。相关的原因大概是以前靠打铃告诉时间吧。

 

Liverty Bell -- 自由钟 in  Independence Hall , 也有人称为独立钟。

我们现在使用汉语时见到  “钟“ 字和听到 ”钟声“ 时会想到的是 clock 还是 bell 呢？
