我还问过我儿子这个and-then-some什么意思。
最初读你这段还以为这个and then some 就是and then的意思呢。顺着你给的link又去查了查，对你的用法有疑问：
1、听到见到过的用法都是 blah blah blah blah, and then some. 没见“and then some”后面还带其他内容的；
2、套用网上见到的使用模式，好像这句说成“you have to / should do 1, 2, 3, and 4, and then some”更合理一些. 可是那and then some好像是用来吹牛或者画大饼的，as long as you do something, and then some, you ... 逻辑上似乎有点儿不通；
3、这段顺序改改，我个人觉得更易接受：
As long as you learn all the ins and outs, get your ducks in a row, cover the whole nine yards, keep your plate full, and then some, you'll be home free，and then some.
