The ultimate purpose is to express one's ideas clearly to the listeners, to convey the intended meaning effectively to the listeners, by emphasizing the important word or ideas with a louder/longer/and high-pitched reading of that word or syllable; on the other hand, having a weaker (unstressed) reading of the relatively unimportant words or syllables to make the emphasized ones more prominent. The rhythmic patterns are the manners resulting from that kind of sound treament, and the linking and flap T (and other so-called techniques) are elements contributing to the formation of the rhythm.
谢谢寓公美风文青。谢谢你们谢谢肖庄新声冰粒的鼓励，谢谢众网友的支持，谢谢泡泡介绍了Stern的发音方法及其他同学的经验分享，我也把我认为比较重要的有关英语节奏的积累总结一下（十几个），陆续同大家分享。我觉得用英语语调语气来表达自己细微意思的境界更要慢慢来，但英语节奏的重视/学习/运用/掌握是应该一开始就是必须的。事实上只要开口说/读，就在运用节奏，但只是用了不合适的节奏：我们典型的就是声声重读（每个音节）。近几年大多数技术移民的英语很好，但多数口语糟，即使是在外企使用英语多年，出国后交流很是问题（口语），节奏读的太不敢恭维了，经常听到THIS IS RIGHTER (都重读了，而且还加音了).
强调一点，英语节奏不能靠总结的节奏形式的条条框框来掌握，但了解这些条条框框能使你意识到它的存在，帮助你有效的掌握英语的语调节奏，达到事半功倍的效果。
