【冲浪英语】 Random Thoughts 14-15

14. Short Hair
After mentioning it a few times, Mei finally went ahead and had her hair cut short recently. Such a simple change in theory had a profound impact on her appearance. Now she looks very different and reminds me of the young girl I met years back. Realizing how much she had changed in our marriage, I cannot help asking myself this question: How much have I changed myself, willingly, for her, out of love?

15. No Permission
"I can bring my badminton racket with me. Right?" I asked, noticing that the airline check-in clerk was stairing it. "No, you cannot bring the tennis racket onboard." To my surprise, she replied with a flat no. "Why?! It is not a weapon! Can you show me the rule? Then I will follow it. BTW, it is a badminton racket, not a tennis racket." I protested. In the end, they could not show me the rule, and I carried the racket with me all the way to my destination. "If you don't like the potential answer, don't ask the question." A friend commented.
