当年上下班commute看的. It was love at first sight. 从此对书跟作者惊为天人。Even today, it still tops the list of my favorite books, so is the author.

Heller 跟海明威差不多，很不文艺，用词平实一点儿不拽（当然 catch phrases 多了些）。俩人风格都很mascular. Fitzgerald 跟 Henry James 是优美型选手，句子写得又长又拽，很欧洲很文艺。

Lucky Jim by Amis is a very humerous novel on academic life in last centry's Britain, highly recommended to you young academic professors.
