错过了一个活色生香的party. FWQ sounded like a perfect hostess. I learned a few decent expressions: at the slightest interest,commanded authority on this issue,harvested quite a few compliments and etc.

Meanwhile, I have a few questions:

1. raised the party to another level/brought the party to a climax

I am not sure about these expressions...

2. The witty cha-cha, coming back..., brought..., with the classmates guessing...

The sentence structure looks complicated to me. probably it's me.

3. performanERs outside of the class

Since these performances are outside of the class anyway, probably you meant to refer to the performers.
