最近老看到这个词，用得好了挺地道，跟大家分享一下。

The AARP study finds that family members spend an average 20 hours a week providing care. Henley refuses to count, but his mom, Vicki, keeps tab.

That includes Mr. Zuckerberg, who apparently signed up to keep tabs on his new adversary.

字典：keep tab(s) (on someone or something) and keep track (of someone or something)Fig. to monitor someone or something; to follow the activities of someone or something.

By the time he arrived here to meet with 20 Republicans for afternoon coffee, he had already had lunch with 15 people in nearby Orange City, where his campaign  picked up the tab for the all-you-can-eat buffet at the Pizza Ranch.

字典：pick up the tab (for something) to pay money for something We shouldn't have to pick up the tab for the new road if only one family will be using it.
