So much bad news in one morning was very hard to swallow, but I knew, for Bill and me,life must go on. In the afternoon I went to give a talk at Goucher College on civil rights, invited by my old friend Taylor Blanchet.  Because I didn't want to disappoint Goucher College, or Taylor -- whose wife worked for me, I rushed to the Union Station and jumped on a train to Baldimore.
