关于fix的问题

前晚修理一电灯时，一客人在吧台边拿水边说说，you fix the light,we fix water,今天看片时又见到一句，let me fix you something to eat,在这里,fix=get?如果可以用作为“准备”，是不是老美们也说fix the food,或fix dinner?
