What kind of person was peasant?

 

 

"Peasantry" refers to the lower social class of agricultural workers and those in the medieval feudal system that paid a fee to a landowner in exchange for land and military protection. Peasants were usually looked down upon by the higher social classes, who labeled them as ignorant or poor.
