- Scratch resistant (we have a dog at home and he runs a lot inside the house; 1.5 year so far, no serious nail scratches)
- Water resistant (water spill is Ok; won't crack)
Bad
- Looks cheap (it's fake anyway)
Compared to hardwood, because laminate is a floating floor, it's easier to install for DIYers and taken off from the floor (and can be used to another space for example). Lifespan is shorter. Won't add as much value to resale as hardwood.
Another consideration is the whole decoration style of your house. If you have expensive furniture, for instance, laminate will be too cheap to match.
