1 Wondering: what was my answer? and (are you)wondering what my answer was？ Now it is easy to understand and you know the answer.

2 no matter WHO they are, the CEO, president, or directors: here the who can be both considered as subject and object, to my feeling. Actually, people always like to accept who in stead of whom. Like the following: Love someone whom they are, not for who they could be! Thus, seems both works well. However, the who may be used to avoid the repeating of the firstly used whom! Hope this answers your question.
