有一种蛙的交配礼仪完全基于数字。若有一只雄蛙想先声夺人——一阵嘀咕，紧随其后是咯咯的一个脉动音符——对手的回应呢，嘀咕后，就即来两个咯咯。先声的雄蛙当然还以颜色，回敬三个咯咯。彼此拉锯至六个咯咯为止，因为大家都已经沒气了。
