懒人的听写作业，based on NewVoice‘s

Even while resting from their labors they are, through the books they read, they are equipping themselves to perform these（those） labors more efficiently. This shall （They saw？）be it, they may not be deliberately  reading it to improve their minds, all unconsciously the ideas they derived from the printed pages are stored up to be worked over by the imagination for their future profit.
