First of all, there maybe some risk going home before getting your green card. But I don't think that's a valid reason not to go home see the family you love. Not valid! Period.

I went home three times while I was in F-1/H-1 etc. It has been some trouble in getting a VISA back, but I would never regret it. What I am regreting now is that I didn't see that one person who gave me the most love a few more times before he passed away.

You got to do what you ought to do...stop worrying and start enjoying.. Life is hard, I understand, but money should not be the first thing to worry about. "there is something money can't buy"
