I just had a summons delivered by a private processor. The sheriff could deliver it, because the defendant had known that It will be a summons. When the sheriff nocked at the door, he was hiding inside and pretend there was nobody there. The sheriff could not do anything about it. The private processor will hide outside the house, when he comes out, call his name. If he turns his head, he has to accept the summons, otherwise he will be treated as reject the summons and lose the case.
