After trees grow up, it really does not matter whichever direction the house is facing, you can always get shades, perhaps except at noontime.

That is the case for our house that is surrounded with a lot of big tall trees. There is no sun exposure perhaps except at noontime and moning time for the front portion. Our house is facing southeast 135 degree. It is really nergy efficient.
