i think you are right in recognising the significance of completing the thesis。

what you don't agree is that you seem to have prioritised that ahead of the person himself.

There are many， many， ways of tackling a dreading thesis, kept on working on it obviously didn't work. Exactly how to do it is his choice. I think for anyone else to dictate how he should prioritise His responsibilities is wrong。
